Bluestocking Teas goes VEGAN!

  • The Crypt, St Peter's De Beauvoir Northchurch Terrace London, England, N1 4Da United Kingdom (map)

This January Bluestocking Teas is offering our first fully vegan afternoon tea, timed for Veganuary. Tickets can be purchased here

We are thrilled to have some fascinating vegan speakers to lead the conversation...

Clare Every (Instagram's @thelittlelondonvegan) is a well known vegan food blogger who spends most of her time venturing around London tasting all of the vegan food on offer for her 60,000+ followers. When Clare is not eating, she is either working at global advertising agency MullenLowe Group, watching Chelsea FC play, playing football, at music concerts or travelling the world.

Carl Donnelly is a multi-award winning vegan comedian who has appeared on TV shows Mock The Week, Dave’s One Night Stand and Russell Howard’s Good News, and performed at pretty much every comedy festival there is. Carl reports that he feels that going vegan was the best decision he ever made and that removing background guilt about eating meat made it easier to function on a daily basis.

Clarisse Flon is a French trained patisserie chef who in 2015 set up The Sunny Spoon, creating vegan patisserie and sweet cakes. Such was Clarisse’s success, this year she joined La Suite West to create’s London’s first vegan hotel and is Head Chef at its restaurant Cafe Forty One. “I do believe the vegan offerings you can find around the capital are mostly present because the demand is there rather than made with great passion. I work closely with my brigade to develop a vegan offering that would defy the usual stereotype around plant based food”. Clarisse will be advising on the menu for Bluestocking Teas Goes Vegan as well as speaking.

The panel will be leading a conversation on veganism and the environment, animal rights, its impact on nutrition and lifestyle as well as some of the current debates - such as are foods like avocados and palm oil really vegan, and is veganism accessible enough?

The MENU is under development in the Bluestocking kitchen, but will of course include lashings of tea, coffee, a selection of sandwiches and savoury treats, scones with 'clotted cream' and jam, followed by beautiful mini cakes and macarons. Everything will be completely vegan and served on vintage china. Bluestocking Teas is known for its bounteous spread, so please come hungry and consider bringing tupperware if you in any way doubt your appetite...
